Remembering Rabindranath Tagore, India

Rabindranath Tagore (7 May 1861 – 7 August 1941), the Nobel laureate poet, writer, philosopher was the ambassador of Indian culture to the rest of the world. Author of Gitanjali, he became the first non-European to win the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913.

He was a social reformer, patriot and above all, a great humanitarian and philosopher. He composed Jana Gana Mana in 1911 which later was selected as the national anthem of India
